Nails, Not Blogging, and Ultra Fine Sterling Silver Labradorite Jewellery

I have a confession! I haven’t posted on my site for a few weeks, though I have kept up to date with my Instagram. The reason being that I had the most gorgeous acrylic nails. They were red and sparkly and smooth and shimmered when the light hit them. So beautiful. However, when I came to pick up my jewellery creating tools I discovered the catch. Maybe you are one of those awesome people who can put on jewellery with longer nails, that could pick up a pair of pliers and easily manipulate and cultivate a masterpiece of wire phenomena with talons, that could hammer and meld a piece of metal to beaten perfection without one scratch o chip to your varnish. I am not. I found I couldn’t do any of those things, my nails were in the way. I was stubborn, I wanted to keep them, so I did…until the urge to create jewellery finally frothed within me so violently that I had to give in and remove the little beauties.  That is my confession: fashion over function. I am so ashamed of my self.

Once I returned to more “normal” sized nails, I could finally get back to creating. So here is a catch up on what I have been up to.

I expanded my exclusive sterling silver range with more AA labradorite necklaces. Here are the labradorite gemstones before:

And here is what they turned into!

Some of these little beauties have sold, some have not! check out my Etsy shop to purchase. Link is on the home page.

I had so much fun wire wrapping each one. It was fabulous to be able to actually work without talons in the way. I think my wire wrapping skills have come a long way. I love the way the labradorite gemstones catch the light, they have such wonderful glows within them and are such a great quality. Each piece is a unique piece of sterling silver art and comes in a black jewellery box and wrapped in tissue paper ready to be that awesome and unique gift. They’re so beautiful to look at, almost mesmerising, I would wear them all the time. They are also easy to care for too, as they are all sterling silver so you can clean them with any sterling silver cleaner.

A Quick Preview Of Fine Jewellery Created This Week: Pearls, Labradorite and Sterling Silver.

Here is a quick look at some of these pieces I am working on. I will be posting them in my Etsy shop on Saturday 10th June 2017. They took a lot of time to create and are high quality pieces which cost a lot more in time and materials and so this is reflected in the prices I will be posting. If you wish me to create a custom order of something similar, then please feel free to email me or message me through Etsy or Facebook.

Check out these luxurious beauties. All either sterling silver, real natural silk, real AA quality gemstones and real quality pearls.

It has been an interesting journey where I have developed my cabochon wrapping skills, and wire weaving to produce eight beautiful pendants. Some are still available in my Etsy store if you wish to purchase.  Take a look over my journey, here are all eight below.

Bask in the beauty of these magical pendants, the flash, the shimmer, the shine, each more fabulous then the next. I am so proud of this collection. I love the boho style and when I created each of them it was so calming and relaxing. I think each one is like a little work of art. They are pieces to treasure.

Tree of Life Perm, Pearls, Competitions and Panic

Tree of Life Perm, Pearls, Competitions and Panic

I am going to start this post by mentioning how fabulous all you guys and gals are. I have been so amazed by all the support I have received. You guys and gals are so fabulous and I really appreciate you all.

This week has had me in a panic, there has been so much to do! However, I did manage to get in some fabulous jewellery making, pearl knotting and a competition. (see my Facebook or Instagram page). I think I managed it all and here are the pictures to prove it.

I created this unique tree of life using one of my magic labradorite stones (number 7), only to have my teenage daughter “ask” for it. She adores it, won’t take it off and is stilling gazing at it all starry-eyed as I type. I have mummy points for this one. But she’s happy and that’s what my jewellery is all about: making others happy. So this one is not for sale but I wanted you all to see it because it reminds me of an perm my mother used to have.

This week I also branched out and tried a new skill: knotting pearls. Above is my first attempt. It took me a while but it turned out lovely and looks so elegant. Perfect for a wedding or special occasion…or special someone.

And if that wasn’t enough for this week, I also ran a competition to win a free set of earrings of choice on my Instagram and Facebook page.  A lovely lady called Barbara was the lucky winner and will receive a unique pair of handmade earrings. Well done to everyone else who entered. You support means a lot. The earrings not chosen will be placed in my store for Saturday for anyone to purchase.

Tree of life perms, pearls and competition panic now over. Enjoy the weekend x

My Timely Creation of Earrings.

Maybe it’s because it’s Easter, maybe I had a lot of energy, maybe I was overdoing it, or maybe I was inspired. I like to think I was inspired, whether from the warm spring weather, God, my daughter’s demands for new earrings or just the beauty of each stone. Whatever the reason, over the last two days I have created earrings in a timely fashion. I created twelve pairs but decided to keep one pair for myself: after all that hard work I needed a little reward didn’t I?

I created an eclectic mix of wire wraps, dangling gems and even some chakra stimulation. I love each pair and really enjoyed creating them. Here they are for you to feast on:

Which is your favourite?

The set I kept are similar to the pair in the bottom right corner but had jasper rounds all the way down instead of the green aventurine. I keep looking at this picture and wondering how I did it all in such a timely manner. Oh well when inspiration hits, it hits! I need to enjoy it while it lasts because I know when Easter’s over there won’t be as much time to create.

If you want to see more detailed descriptions of each set check out my Etsy page.
