Here is a quick look at some of these pieces I am working on. I will be posting them in my Etsy shop on Saturday 10th June 2017. They took a lot of time to create and are high quality pieces which cost a lot more in time and materials and so this is reflected in the prices I will be posting. If you wish me to create a custom order of something similar, then please feel free to email me or message me through Etsy or Facebook.
Check out these luxurious beauties. All either sterling silver, real natural silk, real AA quality gemstones and real quality pearls.
Stunning Cream White Knotted Pearl Necklace With Silk thread and Sterling Silver Clasp.
Wire Wrapped Sterling Silver Labradorite Pendant by Dysis Design
After a few requests from friends and family, I decided to work on a range of quality sterling silver pieces. I am really excited by this range, and the results have been amazing so far. I have been, bending, wrapping, weaving, creating and polishing the sterling silver wire like crazy. It’s been hard work, sterling silver is delicate and easy to mark you need to be careful when using tools on it and polish it well. I have found that I am using my nylon coated pliers much more, to protect the beautiful wire and to ensure it stays shiny.
I have already had a few custom requests this week and was able to fulfil these requests. Minimalist circle stud earrings, a birthday present for an 18th birthday June girl (pearl earrings and necklace were perfect). A simple obsidian heart pendant for everyday wear. Take a look at them here:
I love the results I have produced using sterling silver. I have so many ideas that I want to try out and can’t wait to do more with sterling silver.
After seeing how stunning the obsidian heart was, I created one myself too. I love it so much! Obsidian is a beautiful gemstone that really speaks to me; I really love the tiny golden flecks. In the past it was a gemstone used for scrying and mirror magic because it was thought to reflect your soul within it. It can also offer spiritual protection and give wisdom to those who wear it. I hoping it will help me make wiser choices in the future. Keep watching this space to see!
I am going to start this post by mentioning how fabulous all you guys and gals are. I have been so amazed by all the support I have received. You guys and gals are so fabulous and I really appreciate you all.
This week has had me in a panic, there has been so much to do! However, I did manage to get in some fabulous jewellery making, pearl knotting and a competition. (see my Facebook or Instagram page). I think I managed it all and here are the pictures to prove it.
I created this unique tree of life using one of my magic labradorite stones (number 7), only to have my teenage daughter “ask” for it. She adores it, won’t take it off and is stilling gazing at it all starry-eyed as I type. I have mummy points for this one. But she’s happy and that’s what my jewellery is all about: making others happy. So this one is not for sale but I wanted you all to see it because it reminds me of an perm my mother used to have.
This week I also branched out and tried a new skill: knotting pearls. Above is my first attempt. It took me a while but it turned out lovely and looks so elegant. Perfect for a wedding or special occasion…or special someone.
And if that wasn’t enough for this week, I also ran a competition to win a free set of earrings of choice on my Instagram and Facebook page. A lovely lady called Barbara was the lucky winner and will receive a unique pair of handmade earrings. Well done to everyone else who entered. You support means a lot. The earrings not chosen will be placed in my store for Saturday for anyone to purchase.
Tree of life perms, pearls and competition panic now over. Enjoy the weekend x
Maybe it’s because it’s Easter, maybe I had a lot of energy, maybe I was overdoing it, or maybe I was inspired. I like to think I was inspired, whether from the warm spring weather, God, my daughter’s demands for new earrings or just the beauty of each stone. Whatever the reason, over the last two days I have created earrings in a timely fashion. I created twelve pairs but decided to keep one pair for myself: after all that hard work I needed a little reward didn’t I?
I created an eclectic mix of wire wraps, dangling gems and even some chakra stimulation. I love each pair and really enjoyed creating them. Here they are for you to feast on:
Which is your favourite?
The set I kept are similar to the pair in the bottom right corner but had jasper rounds all the way down instead of the green aventurine. I keep looking at this picture and wondering how I did it all in such a timely manner. Oh well when inspiration hits, it hits! I need to enjoy it while it lasts because I know when Easter’s over there won’t be as much time to create.
If you want to see more detailed descriptions of each set check out my Etsy page.
